Hi, I'm Susan Bleyle (BLY-lee). I was born in 1971. Five decades of life experience have given me many tools in my health coaching toolbox.
I am an educator with 27 years of experience teaching ESL and English to college students and other adults. I earned an MA in Applied Linguistics from Georgia State University and a PhD in Language and Literacy Education from The University of Georgia. My students come from a wide range of cultures, backgrounds, and lived experiences. I strive to honor the individual path of each learner and coaching client.
I am a yogi with 25 years of experience as a practitioner and 4 years as a certified instructor. I value all styles of yoga, including not only asana (postures) but pranayama (breathing), mantra (chanting), and mediation. I am also a certified Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist and can incorporate the tools of India’s ancient health science into my coaching practice.
I am certified in plant-based nutrition from eCornell and understand the evidence-based science behind a whole-food plant-based diet. Ten years ago, I adopted a plant-based diet and experienced a huge transformation in the health of my body, mind, and spirit.
I am an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, currently gaining my certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I am studying a variety of dietary theories and practical lifestyle coaching methods. I also completed training in Lifestyle Medicine for Coaches by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and Wellcoaches. As a health coach, I use my wide range of knowledge and life experience to work with you to co-create completely personalized actions based on your goals to move you toward your ideal vision of health within your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and resources.
